The Family Place

The largest family violence service provider in the Dallas area, The Family Place reaches out to victims of family violence through intervention, emergency shelter, crisis counseling, transitional housing and case management. Established more than 30 years ago, its mission is to end the epidemic of family violence. The agency serves all victims of family violence-women, children and men.

Crystal Charity Ball funds will be used over a three-year period for the continuation of Faith and Liberty's Place Family Center, a program which neutralizes contention in divorce/custody cases involving family violence by providing court-ordered supervised visitations with non-custodial parents and monitored exchanges of children by divorced parents in a safe, neutral child-centered environment. Trained professionals facilitate the visitations and exchanges. The only program offering these services in Dallas, the Center's goals are to ensure physical safety, reduce emotional stress, and improve the relationship between the child and a non-custodial parent. Referrals come directly from Dallas County Family District Courts, primarily from child custody cases in which one parent has a history of abusive behaviors toward the other parent and/or child. The Center will serve 597 children over three years.
